Week 11 - Friday

Sam-
Class this morning was mostly spent all trying to get little tasks completed - Lauren working on the videos, Katie on the website, and me planning trying to finalise the flyer and business card. Here are some screenshots of the progressions.

Business card:

Flyer:

Then for the afternoon Lauren and I worked to finish the videos. I sourced and edited music whilst she cut and changed things around and in the end we finished our videos to a standard we were really happy with.

Week Eleven - Video

We went and filmed our activity video on monday, this was very successful. It was a beautiful day and we were able to get it all done in time for me to go to class.
We then filmed our landing video on thursday. This went well and we were able to get two angles and it looks much less studio produced (the bad way).
At the end of the landing video we wanted the shards to come together to create the logo so I made two speeds:

Today was spent editing the video together so the whole team was happy with it. We then got some new music as Jason mentioned in studio time that what we had was a let down and to meh. This was a bit difficult as we found a great royalty free song we wanted for the activity video but every ten or so seconds it had the vord 'audio jungle' embedded in it so we worked a little magic and cut the music to fit around it.
We finished both videos though so now we can focus on the dossier and presentation! Woo!

Week 11 - Thursday

Sam -
This afternoon the girls and I met up to keep working on our stuff. Katie and I met up earlier and I cut out and scored our box from the stronger cardboard we'd purchased whilst she continued to work on the website. I also began working on the flyer and business card. Lauren arrived at 3:30 and we nailed the filming for our introduction landing video and discussed the ideas for the flyer and the business card, and the journey map.

When I started working on the flyer I felt like it needed an accent font so downloaded 2 to show the girls:

They weren't fans so I moved on without worrying about the font and actually found that our museo font worked if I created dynamics in the weights.

In the afternoon the girls and I played with a little bit and tried a few different things.

This was where I started:

Katie wasn't sure on the bold colour and wanted to see a white alternative:

The girls then wanted to go back to the colour but thought maybe the light blue, and they wanted to make the colour wrap around slightly from the logo on the other side:

Then we ended up coming back to the strong colour and I wrote up the text:

We will make our final edits on this tomorrow.

Then it was time to progress the business card. I started with the generic landscape style and dropped some text in as a tagline:

However when I showed Katie we both thought it looked like it was going to be a bit boring and did some image research for cool business cards and Katie found this one:

We thought we could try using this style but having our angled shards in place of the colour stripes.
I am going to play around with this more tomorrow.

Week 11 - Tuesday

Sam-
Today was a bit of a write off, we were in the Pit first thing and then moved up into studio however Katie was under the pump with her Creative Enterprise stuff so had to work on that.

I went back through our journey map to condense what was important, and head it with a situation so that I could create a tidy photoshop version:

Then Lauren and I worked on the new video scripts for the activity promo video and the landing video:

After that Luaren and I thought it'd be a good idea to draft up what we wanted to put in our dossier and a bit of an order so that I could get onto writing the content for it soon:

I then started to work on mocking up the journey map in Photoshop to get that done but totally underestimated how much of a struggle that would be!
Because of the different possible routes I had to play around a lot with how I could juggle it yet make it look really clear:

I started here but didn't feel like the 2 arrows were very succinct.

Still didn't feel like this very clearly told the story.

Lauren suggested this kind of stacking but it started to look very messy.

My next thought was that I could make our path that we have designed really big and the path we don't want them to take small, and the path below will be all the other stuff small as well that we've though of but isn't pertinent to this 6 week project.
I feedbacked with my sister who was the one who told me to keep the arrows orange if that was a good path to take as it made it easy for people to recognise that orange was the desired path, even if they have gone off the ideal track.

That led me to here and I was pretty happy! But still felt that bit at the top was a little unresolved so played more:

This felt much better! And then the whole thing looked far more clear:

The girls were happy and I'll show one of the lecturer's when I get the chance.

We all separated as soon as class finished to work with our groups on Creative Enterprise which is due tomorrow! :0

Week 11 - Monday

Sam -
We met up this morning to do all the activity filming for our promo video. We were all super pumped as it was a beautiful day and so we devised a plan of attack and then hit the road. It was a super fun morning and we managed to get all the shooting done in time for Lauren to go to her 1pm class!

Here's us at the beach enjoying our picnic ;)
