We had a really interesting lecture first up with Matt from Empathy. He had some really useful stuff to present to us and I really enjoyed his "rules to prototyping":
We found it somewhat interesting with some of the comments he made about workplace culture and social connectedness being pertinent to a good business as these were exactly the things we had picked up on with Project Boost.
After that I showed the girls my larger scale prototypes I'd made on Wednesday. I'd been able to get some scrap paper/wrong prints from the toystore and had been able to make my templates off A1 paper which meant I was able to make them to a more accurate size of what we'd like. The only issue with that was that the paper wasn't strong and so the prototypes didn't work as well as I'd have liked.
She loved the idea of the package and especially the pyramid reveal style, but having an iPad in there was too much. She felt like it introduced a lot of pressure because of their worth and that it could create awkward tensions if the business doesn't want to get involved with Project Boost. This was really great feedback and pushed us to think about how else we could do this hologram video which is just so cool. What we thought up was to give them the plastic piece in their Project Boost Box with instructions and then have a link to the video for their phone or something. Lee also talked about the opportunities to design event identification/branding for us and how that could move into t-shirts and run sheets and things like that. She also said that there was a possibility to engage the employees as well - we have come across a lot of extra opportunities like this but for our 6 week brief we have chosen the website, video, and package as our 3 touchpoints to focus on and will identify all the potential opportunities moving forward with the project. She had really positive feedback on our website which she described as modern, clean, bright, lively and professional - EXACTLY THE WORDS WE WERE HOPING TO INSPIRE! :D
We had booked the film studio to do the video work for our hologram video and so we had to whip together a bit of a speech. In reality it probably should've had more time put into it but I think it was ok:
